While we may purchase a vehicle based on the brand, model, and design, we’re also after comfort. If you do any sort of driving beyond 15 minutes, having a comfortable setup is imperative. However, one of the most overlooked areas is your headrest. When was the last time you adjusted yours?
It might seem like it’s there for comfort (and yours may be placed as such), the headrest plays a valuable role in your safety while driving. When used correctly, it can prevent grim injuries and even death.
Here are some tips from the experts at RoSPA so you can make sure your headrest is providing both comfort and protection:
- The top of the headrest should be level with the top of your head
- The distance between the head and headrest should be about 10cm
- It should lock into place so as not to move in the case of a collision
- Headrests are just as important for passengers as they are for drivers
Although headrest adjustment is not a legal requirement or compliance issue, at Ambit we want to help you to take care of all aspects of driving and vehicle safety. Anything that can reduce the risk of injury or health issues for yourself or your employees makes for a happier, healthier workplace.
